Everyday Carry

These are the items you should have on you — or immediately accessible — every single day. Not a bug-out bag. Not a stockpile. Just the essentials that make you capable right now.

A note on recommendations: The specific brands and models listed below are what I personally carry and trust. They work for me — but your ideal setup may look different. Use these as a starting point, then find the specific brands, sizes, and styles that best suit your hands, your body, and your life. The important thing isn’t the brand. It’s that you carry something.

Already On You

Cell Phone

Your most versatile tool. Keep it charged.

Wallet

ID, cash, and cards. Always have some small bills.

The Essentials

No permit needed. No training required. Just carry them.

Medical Boo Boo Kit

A compact everyday carry first aid kit for minor cuts, scrapes, and blisters. Keep one in your pocket, bag, or car so you're always ready for the small stuff.

Multitool (e.g., Leatherman)

Leatherman Wave+ is the standard. Carry daily — this tool earns its place in every kit.

$40–150Amazon

Streamlight Micro Stream Flashlight

Tourniquet — CAT or SOFT-T Wide

Buy one for every kit and vehicle. Do not buy non-name-brand; CAT and SOFT-T Wide are the field-validated standards.

$30–45Amazon

Armed Carry

Level 2 and beyond. Requires training, licensing, and a serious commitment to safety.

Do not carry a firearm without proper training. Complete a defensive pistol course, understand your local laws, and practice regularly. Carrying responsibly is a lifestyle — not a purchase.

Concealed Carry Holster (IWB or OWB)

Buy a quality holster (Tier 1, Safariland, Vedder, Alien Gear). A cheap holster is a safety risk.

$40–150TREX Arms

Handgun (defensive pistol — e.g., 9mm)

Acquire only after completing a basic defensive pistol course. 9mm recommended for availability and cost. Brand examples: Glock, Smith & Wesson M&P, Sig Sauer.

Spare Handgun Magazines (2–4 additional)
